Adapted from Hashim Nadeem’s novel, the story follows a dark‑skinned boy born into a sprawling, impoverished family of eleven. In a culture that prizes fair complexion, his name—meaning “fairy’s child”—creates a poignant irony as he confronts prejudice, identity, and the longing for acceptance.
