Okuni, a noblewoman, journeys across the land accompanied by her loyal samurai retainer Gohei. Both are driven by a single purpose: to track down Tomonojo, the assassin who murdered Okuni’s husband—the same man who had been Gohei’s master. Until they capture and kill Tomonojo, they cannot return to their lord’s domain.
