Opao and Biboy meet as children in an orphanage in Taal, Batangas, vowing to remain best friends forever. When they are adopted, their lives diverge: Opao goes to a lonely spinster whose thwarted acting ambitions shape her into a budding star known as Darling, while Biboy is taken in by the kind‑hearted Crisp Pops, who raises him with simple, caring guidance.
