Outcasts in their hamlet, a brother and sister are blamed for a hereditary mental illness. Villagers conspire to seize their land, beating and hanging the brother and gang‑raping the sister, then stage their deaths as accidents. The brother survives and returns to exact violent vengeance on those responsible.
