After his friend Kurt is murdered, a journalist is sent by his editor to the provinces, where a prostitute is found dead at the brothel “Paradise.” An apparently insane knife‑wielding suspect is arrested, but the case feels off. A striking photo of the suspect’s defense lawyer draws the reporter into an intrigue that could expose the city’s façade.
