Reporter Nicholas Ranson rejoices at the Wright brothers’ first flight on Dec 17 1903, but his uncle Hiram Jenkins refuses to publish it, so Nicholas quits and builds an aircraft with his daughter Peggy. Peggy flies a kite, injuring. After Nicholas dies in a crash, she grows up as planes reach 11,000 ft, helping friends Scott and Pat build a plane.
