A brief adventure that changes lives forever. After a prison escape, Martin Stechert takes a 12‑year‑old boy hostage. The boy, a quiet, rule‑following “good little” kid plagued by loneliness, begins to admire Martin’s cheeky anti‑societal pranks and his desperate quest to fulfill dreams. In a climactic choice, he stays with Martin despite the chance to run. They flee via hijacks to Martin’s childhood lake cabin, pursued by impatient, trigger‑happy police.
