Howard, a shy morgue employee, becomes infatuated with a girl named Christine who mysteriously ends up among the bodies he tends. Though she is dead, Howard refuses to accept her fate, insisting she belong by his side. He dresses her, feeds her and cares for her as if she were alive, turning the morgue into a twisted haven for his impossible love.
