Lisabela loves the cinema, while Leléu drifts from town to town as a flamboyant con‑artist and MC, selling oddities and staging cheesy acts like a woman turned into a gorilla. He seduces Linaura, the beautiful wife of a feared hitman, who hunts him down. Escaping, Leléu lands in another town, instantly falls for Lisabela, who is engaged to Douglas, a rustic pretender to Rio’s cosmopolitan lifestyle.
