Toyomi learns she is pregnant while Shintaro and Yurie enjoy an extended honeymoon. She gives birth to their daughter Kiyoko, aided by Michiko, her mother and Shintaro’s relatives. Yurie befriends Toyomi, discovers the child is Shintaro’s and convinces Toyomi to let Shintaro and Yurie raise Kiyoko. Later Michiko finds Toyomi teaching at a kindergarten.
