Emilio Fernández directs Dolores del Rio and Pedro Armendáriz in a tale of obsession. Raimunda’s daughter Acacia despises stepfather Esteban; to flee home she marries a man she doesn’t love while Esteban becomes fixated on her and plots to kill her unsuspecting fiancé. When his true nature is revealed, mother and daughter unite to protect each other and preserve their bond.
