In the Chinese Spirit Realm, Master Oogway is engaged in deep meditation, seeking Inner Peace. This tranquil moment is abruptly interrupted when he is confronted by his old friend, Kai, who has malicious intentions.

Kai, having spent centuries accumulating the Chi of Kung Fu Masters, ambushes Oogway with a desire to steal his Chi. In a moment of selflessness, Oogway relinquishes his Chi but warns Kai that Po, the Dragon Warrior, will thwart his plans.

Meanwhile in the valley, Po enjoys his role as the Dragon Warrior alongside the Furious Five, consisting of Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper, and Monkey. This phase of his life is filled with joy as he embraces his position among fellow warriors.

Master Shifu announces his retirement, leading to a transfer of teaching responsibilities to Po. Despite wanting to pass the mantle to Tigress, Shifu insists that Po is the chosen one, igniting a new chapter in Po's life.

Po quickly finds that mentoring the Furious Five is overwhelming, leading to many mishaps that cause injuries among his friends. Conflicted and disheartened, Po begins to doubt his worthiness as the Dragon Warrior.

To help Po regain his confidence, Shifu shares profound insights about mastering Chi, the life force within everyone. This lesson emphasizes the importance of self-discovery and understanding one’s true role as a master.

In a dramatic twist, Kai emerges in the mortal realm, feeling forgotten and overshadowed by Oogway's legacy. He seeks vengeance by commanding the jade statues of captured Kung Fu masters to retrieve Oogway's students.

During a visit to his adoptive father's noodle shop, Po meets his biological father, Li Shan. Their relationship begins on a complicated note, but they bond over shared experiences and explore their Kung Fu heritage together.

Suddenly, calm is shattered when Kai's jade warriors launch an attack on the valley, featuring the legendary Kung Fu masters in jade form. Po and his friends realize they must uncover Kai's history to formulate a plan.

To prepare for the looming confrontation with Kai, Po travels to Li's secret panda village to master Chi control. In this new environment, he embraces a lifestyle of rolling and communal living, building bonds with the villagers.

Amid training and relaxation, Po realizes the importance of accepting his identity as a panda. His journey of self-discovery inspires the villagers and enhances their collective strength against the threat of Kai.

As chaos unfolds, Shifu and the Furious Five assist Po in preparing for a showdown with Kai at the Jade Palace. A significant discovery regarding the captured Kung Fu masters pushes them to act swiftly in the face of danger.

The climactic battle against Kai sees Po attempting the Wuxi Finger Hold, only to fall short against an immortal opponent. However, through the unity of his panda family and friends, they revive him, allowing Po to harness their combined Chi.

With the empowerment of gathered Chi, Po transcends into a true master, unleashing a surge of energy that forces Kai back into the Spirit Realm. This transformation marks a pivotal point in his journey as the Dragon Warrior.

Following the battle, the release of the captured Kung Fu masters is celebrated, signifying a new chapter for Po. Oogway's return from the Spirit Realm further cements Po's evolution as he prepares to teach others about the essence of mastery.
