Set in rural Ireland during the 1950s, the film follows the lingering feud between John Doyle and Ben Moran, which is reignited after Ben’s son dies serving in Korea. As John’s own son, Eamon, falls in love with Ben’s daughter, Una, the old rivalry threatens their romance, creating a modern, tragic Romeo‑and‑Juliet saga amid emigration and war.
