Kon‑Tiki follows six Scandinavian adventurers, led by Thor Heyerdahl, as they sail a wooden raft across the Pacific in a 101‑day journey from South America to the Polynesian islands. The expedition aims to prove Heyerdahl’s theory that the islands were settled from the east, by peoples of Peru, challenging the view that they came from Asia. Their route follows studies of Pacific winds and currents.
