He died after a live grenade exploded during a “hot‑potato” game on a ship returning from Lebanon, killing three and maiming others. A vengeful killer now stalks New York, stabbing former marines and leaving fake grenades between their legs. Hard‑boiled detective Flanigan, believing she’s in danger, reveals her secret identity and assumes it himself to trap the murderer.
