He flies to Alaska with Donald Evans; the crash kills Evans, and Cromwell is rescued by fur trapper Tom Ross. At Armstrong’s Trading Post he recovers under Klondike, engaged to Jim; Jim now has the illness that killed Cromwell’s last patient.
