Plot Summary
Directed by Dziga Vertov, this Soviet newsreel marks the first anniversary of Vladimir Ilich Lenin’s death. It draws on Mikhail Koltsov’s Pravda feuilleton ‘The Final Journey’ and is organized into three parts: the 1918 assassination attempt and Soviet progress under Lenin; his illness, death and funeral; and a view of the nation one year later.
