The film culminates when the supernatural child, Jade, finally brings the forces that saved her mother — the witch‑like healer Almera — to Clark’s doorstep. After the van crash that killed most of her family, Jade’s uncanny abilities let her survive and even try to resurrect the dead, but the people she revives turn into soulless, zombie‑like husks. Determined to restore her mother Loreta, Jade lures Clark and Eileen into the jungle, where the zombified passengers stalk them and force them back to the site of the accident.

When the dust settles, Eileen awakens alone in the jungle clearing. The final moments suggest that the soul‑transfer never completed: Loreta’s spirit does not inhabit Eileen, and the torso of her mother lies inert.
