A fierce storm gathers over Villa Sonnenschein as Mr. and Mrs. Jaconis wage a full‑blown marital war. Jealous Hedy dismisses longtime servant Max, who knows too much about her husband Dr. Jaconis’s past affairs. Max leaves, Ferdinand replaces him, but a suitcase mix‑up convinces Max the new man is a criminal, so he returns covertly to protect the family. When Hedy’s friend Lilly and publisher Dr. Ravestyn arrive, mistrust erupts and accusations of adultery, betrayal, murder and manslaughter fly among the guests.
