After her father is killed by shipwreckers and her mother dies of heartbreak, Mary Yellan moves to her Aunt Patience’s inn on Bodmin Moor, where her resolve hardens. There she discovers that her slightly unhinged Uncle Joss commands the wreckers, using Jamaica Inn as their headquarters. Determined to end their crimes, she enlists Jem, a local hero, to bring the gang to justice.
