In a turn‑of‑the‑century country manor, an eccentric family lives under the spell of Anastasia, the striking mistress. Her open liaison with stepson Blarney drives husband Diapanasius to shoot her. The family accepts her death, then her return as a voyeuristic ghost who meddles in their love lives. From her corpse she “gives birth” to Tadeusz, who emerges from a tree trunk, becomes her lover, and spurs further chaos, ultimately leading the rebellious son to rally a mob that assaults the old manor.
