A Canadian businesswoman, Dinah Middleton, is shattered after her teenage son Alex is killed in a hit‑and‑run. Frustrated by the police’s inability to identify a suspect, she hires a private detective and follows leads to New York. There she discovers the offender is protected by the lack of an extradition treaty between Canada and the United States, driving her obsessive quest for justice.
