This sports documentary follows hockey player Richard Clune as he confronts a struggle with substance use disorder during his career in the National Hockey League (NHL). The story traces his journey from a typical Canadian childhood in Toronto to his teenage years with the Ontario Hockey League’s Sarnia Sting, where a crippling addiction to drugs and alcohol developed. After debuting with the Los Angeles Kings, Clune made the difficult decision to seek sobriety, returning to Canada for rehab. Now over ten years sober, he leads a fulfilling life and mentors other players while playing for his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs.
