The ghost of Denmark’s slain king appears to Hamlet, demanding vengeance against his murderer, the new king—Hamlet’s uncle. Hamlet pretends madness while wrestling with doubts and plotting revenge. The paranoid uncle also schemes to kill Hamlet. This BBC adaptation was shot at Kronborg Castle and its grounds in Elsinore, Denmark, the play's setting.
