In California's Mojave Desert, the US Army has built a billion-dollar replica of an Iraqi city for training exercises. A battalion participates in a simulated urban warfare scenario, interacting with hundreds of role-players portraying Iraqi civilians and combatants. As the training progresses, the lines between reality and fantasy become blurred, and the unit must navigate rising tensions to maintain control and prevent the simulated city of Medina Wasl from spiraling into chaos.
