The segment, originally aired as part of the anthology series Amazing Stories, is presented in three short vignettes and was theatrically paired with The Land Before Time, functioning as a backdoor pilot for the later cartoon. It follows a family's mistreatment of their dog, a nostalgic Christmas home‑movie viewing, and the dog's enrollment in guard‑dog school after a burglary.
