This charming comedy follows several romantic couples navigating love’s ups and downs. Central are a good‑hearted but unambitious young soldier and his fiancée, who becomes conflicted when a suave, cultured intellectual captivates her. Parallel stories explore other relationships, most notably the soldier’s mother, whose steady but bland marriage is shaken by the return of a former lover.
