After flunking school, an 18‑year‑old Irishman leaves his tight‑knit Kerry hometown to seek work. He lands a job at a London oil refinery, where he befriends a rugged Scottish co‑worker and begins to reconsider his education. When the refinery sends both men back to Kerry, old tensions surface, forcing them to confront their pasts.
