Johanne falls in love for the first time with her teacher. To preserve her feelings, she journals her emotions and experiences. When her mother and grandmother read the intimate entries, they are initially shocked but recognize its literary promise. As they debate publishing the work, they must weigh family privacy against the chance to share Johanne’s poignant coming‑of‑age voice with a wider audience.
