Alfie and Chester are walking down the street, with Chester constantly asking what they should do today. When Chester mentions chasing a cat, Alfie shows interest, and the duo soon crosses paths with Sylvester the Cat, who only calms when he realizes he’s being chased by a pair of dogs. Panicking, he bolts and seeks refuge inside a place famously named after Dr. Jerkyl and Mr. Hyde. Inside, Sylvester, exhausted, accidentally swallows Dr. Jerkyl’s formula thinking it’s soda, and this triggers a transformation into a large, grotesque version of himself—the fearsome Mr. Hyde cat. Alfie enters the venue and is quickly terrorized by the Hyde creature, while a shaken silence falls over the scene until a perplexed Chester arrives to discover Sylvester has somehow returned to his normal form.
Chester encourages Alfie to press on with the cat hunt. Sylvester hides inside a footlocker, only to be spotted by Alfie. Alfie coaxs him out, and the Hyde form returns, leaving Sylvester looking battered and torn apart as he reappears. As Sylvester makes his way deeper, Alfie dashes in fear while Chester, with his back turned, remains oblivious to the danger. Sylvester seizes the moment, reverts to his regular self, and tries to scare Chester away, but is swiftly beaten and tossed aside by Chester. Chester then forces Alfie at gunpoint to retreat inside and confront the cat once more before locking the door behind them.
Inside, Alfie panics and begs Chester to release him, but Sylvester slips out the window. Believing the danger is over, Alfie seizes the opportunity to stage a ruse, feigning a fight to distract Chester while he smashes glass vessels. In a dramatic turn, Alfie hurls the formula-bearing bottle, which shatters and showers droplets onto a nearby fly. The formula takes effect almost immediately, transforming the insect into a terrifying fly monster that savagely strikes Alfie and hurls him out of the building. The two dogs recoil in shock as the monster slams the door shut in disgust at Alfie’s cowardice. Chester’s reaction is cutting—he slaps Alfie and calls him “yellow,” leaving Alfie chastened by the confrontation.
The next day, Chester and Alfie continue their promenade, with Chester wearing Alfie’s old hat as Alfie keeps nudging him with questions about what they should do next, earning him another sharp rebuke. In the final beat, Alfie breaks the fourth wall and narrates to the audience how brave and strong Chester is, presenting him as the true hero of the moment.
