When successful businessman Melvin Dovereux becomes stuck in a traffic jam created by a solemn funeral procession, the ordinary delay turns unsettling. He soon begins to see a hearse endlessly pursuing him and a mysterious woman racing in a sports car, blurring nightmare and reality. He wonders whether the procession is, in fact, his own funeral.
