In a vast dinosaur breeding ground, a young Parasaurolophus unintentionally exposes the lurking presence of a Carnotaurus. This leads to a frantic stampede, as dinosaurs flee from the predator, causing widespread panic and destruction.

Amidst the chaotic stampede, an Iguanodon mother is forced to abandon her nest. Tragically, the nest is crushed as the Carnotaurus pursues its prey, showcasing the harsh realities of survival in this prehistoric world.

The sole surviving egg from the destroyed nest gets captured by an Oviraptor, setting off a transformative journey. The egg is led through diverse terrains, highlighting the intricate relationships between different dinosaur species.

The Oviraptor's journey concludes on a tropical island inhabited by lemurs. Here, Plio, the daughter of patriarch Yar, names the newly hatched baby Aladar and decides to take him under her care, despite Yar's initial disapproval of this decision.

As Aladar grows into adulthood, he partakes in vibrant mating rituals alongside the lemurs. His friend Zini, however, struggles to attract a mate, showcasing the trials of friendships and relationships in their dynamic ecosystem.

The lively island atmosphere swiftly turns to dread when a catastrophic meteor shower engulfs the sky. The impact creates an explosive shockwave that devastates the island, resulting in the tragic loss of nearly all the lemurs.

In the aftermath of the meteor strike, Aladar and the surviving lemurs leap across the ocean toward the mainland. They look back grieving for their lost loved ones, amid a vow to continue forward in search of safety.

While traversing the desolate wasteland, Aladar and his group face aggression from a pack of Velociraptors. After a harrowing escape, they encounter a powerful herd of Iguanodons led by the determined Kron.

Upon reaching a dry lake, Kron commands the herd to move on, but Aladar and his friends discover a hidden water source beneath the surface. This act of kindness significantly strengthens Aladar's bond with Neera, Kron's sister.

Amidst the herd’s journey, two relentless Carnotaurus stalk them, threatening their existence. An expedition for water leads to Bruton being ambushed, showcasing the constant danger posed by these predators.

During a torrential downpour, Aladar and the group seek refuge in a cave but are soon attacked by the Carnotaurus. Bruton heroically sacrifices himself to save his companions, culminating in a cave-in that diminishes the predator's threat.

After escaping the cave, Aladar realizes the herd's path to the Nesting Grounds is blocked by boulders. He rushes back to warn Kron and the others, but his wisdom is initially disregarded, leading to tense confrontations.

As Aladar and the herd prepare to depart, they face a ferocious Carnotaurus. Banding together, Aladar inspires a united effort against the predator, ultimately leading to a dramatic showdown that tests everyone's courage.

With the downfall of Kron during the battle, Aladar steps up to lead the group toward the safety of the Nesting Grounds. His bravery and determination earn him the loyalty of Neera and the rest of the herd.

Time passes in the Nesting Grounds, where a new generation of dinosaurs hatches, including the offspring of Aladar and Neera. The lemurs also reconnect with more of their kin, marking the start of a hopeful new chapter for both communities.
