In 1993 Cedar Creek's Pioneer Village presents itself as Maine's First Living Museum. A year earlier, a chemical disaster from the CLIONYX derailment shook the town and changed its purpose. Meanwhile, AJ pushes for sensational news while Bill Brown and Kevin Turner insist on focusing on Pumpkin Fest.

Miles away, Clint, owner of the Corn Wagon, finds a grotesque pumpkin with tumors in his family patch. He carves a face and carries it toward Cedar Creek to display at the festival. The mutant pumpkin hints at the blood-drenched danger looming over the town.

The grotesque pumpkin is wheeled into the village and placed at the festival's center stage. The villagers remark on its odd life and the carnival atmosphere continues around it. Kira and Cody prepare for their performances amid the growing spectacle.

Through point-of-view shots, the pumpkin watches humans slaughter its own species nearby. The scene foreshadows a revenge narrative as it stores memories of the cruelty. The festival's merriment masks a dark omen.

The monster's rampage leaves villagers dead—scalped, skinned, and impaled. The theatre crew, Kira, Cody, Trevor, and others flee to a tool shed to hide from the carnage.

Kevin Turner, alive at the security office, formulates a plan to distract the monster using walkie-talkies. The group intends to use Kevin's devices as bait while Cody retrieves the keys to the wagon.

Kevin switches to the wrong channel, alerting the pumpkin to their location. Chaos ensues as the monster closes in on him while the others scramble for escape.

Cody wrestles through the darkness to recover keys from the staff building, while Barbara uses AJ's camera flash to illuminate the vent. The improvised light helps the group navigate toward safety.

Kira, Cody, Trevor, Barbara, and Maddie become the remaining survivors as they prepare to escape in the Corn Wagon. Maddie is initially thought dead but is later revealed to be alive. Clint lies in a stupor unaware of the danger as the pumpkin pursues them.

The pumpkin's approach forces the wagon to crash. Kira, Cody, and Trevor feign death to mislead the monster, while Barbara sacrifices herself along with Clint to buy the others time.

Kira follows lights to Clint's family barn, only to find the pumpkin wearing Clint's decapitated head. Clint's father appears with a gun but is unable to stop the creature. The trio escapes deeper into the night.

The trio finds themselves cornered by innumerable mutant baby pumpkins in a patch. They retreat to a nearby barn as the monster closes in, using a baby as bait to draw them into danger.

A desperate plan drives the monster into a line of babies and they’re crushed by a chaff cutter, splattering green fluid. The survivors realize that ending the curse requires eradicating all the remaining babies.

Trevor is nearly killed by a powerful baby pumpkin, but Maddie arrives on a scooter just in time to save him. She reveals she was never dead; the earlier blood was a pesticide and herbicide.

Kira finishes the confrontation by driving the chaff-cutting tractor over the last monsters. Clint's head is found among carved pumpkins, and a tentacled tendril hints the monster's presence persists beyond the film's end.
