A young Celtic woman, Boudica, is compelled into an arranged marriage by her father, the tribal leader. Her mother, concerned for her daughter's well-being, intervenes and helps Boudica escape the village. Seeking refuge in her childhood home, Boudica hopes to avoid a predetermined marriage and the unhappy life it would entail, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and independence.
