On a rocky hillside, Neil and Sherry glimpse Madeline and decide to follow. They find her in the company of Frye, a hostile-looking treasure hunter, and their uneasy reunion raises questions about her disappearance. Tension tightens as the group navigates the strange dynamics surrounding her.

That night, Frye and Barbara use Neil and Sherry’s boat to reach a remote area offshore. Frye dives into an underwater cavern and, after getting drunk, uses a homemade bomb to unseal a sealed tunnel bearing a sigil. The discovery foreshadows an ancient, guarded secret beneath the island.

The following day, Sherry gifts Madeline an expensive perfume, and Madeline pours it over her body in a trance-like display. Later, the group spends time at the beach, but Madeline’s behavior continues to drift into the uncanny. The sense that something is changing in her intensifies.

Madeline visits a convent where she shares disturbing paintings she uncovered after stripping walls of the monastery. The paintings include a saint and a serpentine creature that predates Christianity, hinting at a hidden history. The island’s occult undercurrents begin to surface more clearly.

While swimming, Barbara is attacked and killed, her dismembered body later washed ashore for local children to find. The town is gripped by fear as more disappearances go unaccounted for. The danger on the island becomes personal for Neil and Sherry.

Several other young women in the town vanish without a trace, deepening the mystery surrounding the island. Whispers of a ritual or monster begin to circulate among the villagers. The search extends beyond Madeline as the community grapples with its secrets.

Neil chases Frye to another boat and dives into the underwater cave. Inside, Frye explains that Madeline initiated the trip and that she had lured him here after meeting on the mainland. He recounts how Madeline’s personality began to change once they arrived.

Lethe falls off a cliff into the water while playing with village boys. Frye salvages her from the sea, but Lethe’s mother is eaten alive by a serpent that seems to guard the island’s secrets. The encounter confirms the supernatural danger surrounding the island.

During a village festival, Sister Anna appears bloodied and shaken as the nuns are found dead around the convent. Madeline stands in a trance, then leaps from a cliff into the ocean and swims toward the underwater cavern. The ritual dynamics reveal a ritualistic, serpentine power at work.

Neil helps pull Madeline from the cavern as Frye detonates the chamber, blowing up the serpent and sacrificing his own life. The apparent monster is defeated, but the cost is high. Madeline, Neil, and Sherry escape as dawn approaches.

At first light, Madeline, Neil, and Sherry depart the island by boat. The remote island’s grip has weakened, but the memory of its mysteries lingers. The trio leaves Greece with the weight of what they’ve witnessed and survived.
