In the 18th century, the British seize the Bloodstone during colonial upheavals. They take it far from its homeland, further sealing its mystique and danger. The ruby's power remains a magnet for greed across ages.

In present-day India, petty criminal Paul Lorre steals the Bloodstone back from a fence. He plans to deliver it to Ludwig Van Hoeven, an international fence, but realises law enforcement is closing in. To hide the gem's trail, he slips it into the baggage of Sandy and Stephanie McVey.

Lorre orders taxi driver Shyam Sabu to guide Van Hoeven's thugs to the mark. Sabu realises he's being followed, and as he drops Sandy and Stephanie at their hotel, the ruby slips into a crevice inside his trunk. The bag becomes a ticking time bomb for everyone involved.

Sandy fights off two thieves ransacking his hotel room in a brutal, close-quarters brawl. He manages to overwhelm them, but the danger isn't over as the chase to recover the ruby continues.
