Marianne Winckler, a celebrated author, goes undercover to investigate the lives of workers in Northern France. While documenting the harsh realities faced by cleaners on a cross-channel ferry, she develops a strong connection with them. Torn between her journalistic mission to expose exploitation and her growing empathy for those she's observing, Marianne grapples with the ethical implications of her deception and ultimately questions her role in seeking justice.
