Ray’s world collapses after an accidental vehicular homicide lands him in a brutal prison where overcrowding, male rape, and rampant drug abuse dominate daily life. The warden tempts him with a privileged position that eases his torment, and Ray excels at the job. Gradually he discovers that many inmates are innocent or victims of circumstance, forcing him to weigh how far he’ll risk his safety to help them.
