Fereydoon, raised by his influential father Farman to be a gentle, compliant son, is derided as a ‘baby dandy’ by relatives. His uncle refuses to let him marry Shirin, his daughter, preferring to wait for Ismael’s release from prison to secure that union, contrary to Shirin’s wishes. To win her, Fereydoon pretends to be a ruffian, defeats his rival and ultimately marries Shirin.
