Awareness (2023) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

During the climax, Ian confronts the perceiver who claims to be his father and learns that much of his life has been built on lies. He also discovers that both the perceiver and Vicente were part of a larger conspiracy involving the Agency, perceivers, and the mysterious "awareness" group—perceivers controlling global politics through manipulated illusions. As the perceiver is killed, Ian realizes that the woman he believed to be real, Esther, is actually a projection created by the perceiver for communication and control—highlighting the illusion of human connection imposed by these manipulations.
