A gay man discovers he is HIV-positive and the story follows the varied reactions of those around him. When his former lover reappears, their past connection is revived amid the crisis. Though the film often uses humor, it avoids sentimentality, and writer‑director William Hoffman delivers an unflinching look at both gay life and the painful emotional impact of the disease.
