A year after the tragic death of her husband Bill in a horseback riding accident, Elizabeth begins to move on with her life and her young son. She reconnects with Travis Brown, a cowboy she met the same weekend as Bill's death, and they quickly fall in love, eventually marrying. However, when new evidence suggests Bill's death was not an accident, Elizabeth finds herself in danger and must protect herself and her son from the man she now calls husband.
