The film follows a young couple whose newly planned life is shattered by Mongolia’s Great Purges of 1934‑38. It serves as testimony to the Buryats and Mongolians persecuted under Stalin, when countless individuals and whole families were executed on false conspiracy charges in 1937‑38. Shot near the Buryat village of Dadal in Khentii province, the involvement of local villagers adds striking authenticity.
