Fatty plays a village blacksmith in the imaginary town of Jazzville, rivaled by garage owner Cy Klone for a pretty schoolteacher’s affection. A city man intervenes, trying to win her and forcing the two to unite. At the village ball, amateur vaudeville acts appear, featuring Keaton as a wriggling Fatima who pulls a long black stocking from a cigar box like a snake. The film is presumed lost.
