Romain Goupil conceived the film after attending several funerals of his 1968‑generation friends in 1996, noticing that former activists now in media and politics were gathering while their revolutionary hopes seemed to die with each coffin. The work pays homage to this privileged generation, now in their fifties, who once believed they could remake the world and still cling to youthful ideals even as they confront personal disappointment, capitalism and imperialism.
