The story follows Jan, raised in New York City, who embarks on a journey to Kurdistan after his grandmother shares a poignant song with him on her deathbed. This song holds the key to Zarife's hidden identity and a painful past tied to the Dersim Massacre. As Jan searches for his grandmother’s history, he also seeks a deeper understanding of himself and his heritage.
