Two department‑store clerks vacation at a Maine seaside resort, each pretending to be a cultured ‘swell’ to see how the affluent live. While posing as high‑society ‘swells’ they meet, fall in love, and share a brief romance, only to part at the holiday’s end, each still believing the other a stranger, unaware that both were merely pretending.
