Aspiring model Alena hopes to find success in Moscow and encounters Yegor at a party. He unexpectedly invites her on a flight to Nice, but their destination turns out to be the remote Yakutsk. Yegor has no recollection of the previous night, yet insists on a crucial meeting. He assures Alena he's sending her home soon and intends to show her the natural wonders of the Lena River, sights unavailable in Nice. During a boat trip into the wilderness, Yegor dives into the river from a cliff, but doesn't resurface, leaving Alena stranded in the vast Yakut taiga.
