In the near future, a bioengineering firm introduces Mungoes, individuals with no memories, feelings, or free will, designed for simple labor. However, a lead engineer begins a clandestine project, secretly implanting the Mungoes with artificial memories, emotions, and the capacity for love, defying their intended purpose and altering their very nature.
