Artist Vik Muniz travels from Brooklyn to Jardim Gramacho, Brazil’s largest garbage dump, to collaborate with the resilient “catadores” who work there, collecting and sorting recyclable materials. Muniz creates portraits of these workers using trash as his artistic medium. Through this unique process, the film explores the catadores' daily lives, their resourcefulness, and the dignity they find amidst challenging circumstances, ultimately showcasing the transformative power of art.
